The New York Jets and Green Bay Packers will face off Saturday at Lambeau Field in a Week 2 preseason game. A regular-season matchup between these teams would likely be a lopsided affair after the Jets went 2-14 last season and the Packers went 13-3 and lost in the NFC title game. However, league MVP Aaron Rodgers isn’t expected to play, while second overall pick Zach Wilson should be calling the shots in the early-going for New York.
Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. ET. The Jets are 2.5-point favorites in the latest Jets vs. Packers odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while the over-under for total points scored is 31.5.

Why the Jets can cover
The Jets could get a longer look at Wilson, who played just two series in the opener against the Giants. He went 6-for-9 for 63 yards and led two efficient drives, with one culminating in a field goal. New York averaged 4.7 yards per play and threw for 227 yards, holding the ball for almost 40 minutes, in the 12-7 win against the Giants. Mike White and James Morgan went a combined 18-for-28 for 172 yards and zero interceptions, though the Jets did give up a fumble.
The Jets should also be able to find holes in a Packers defense that yielded 170 yards on the ground in a 26-7 loss to Houston last week. La’Mical Perine had 33 yards and a touchdown, while Ty Johnson averaged 3.7 yards per carry for the Jets last week. New York’s pass rush could cause trouble for the inexperienced Packers QBs after posting five sacks against the Giants. The Packers also turned the ball over three times in their loss to the Texans.
Why the Packers can cover
The big question is whether quarterback Jordan Love is ready to go. The 2020 first-round pick has a shoulder issue, and an MRI showed no major damage, but the team is being cautious with the heir apparent to Rodgers. Love went 12-for-17 for 122 yards and a touchdown against Houston. With Rodgers, the 2020 NFL MVP, not expected to play in preseason, Kurt Benkert would be the top option if Love is held out. He threw for 88 yards with an interception last week.
Green Bay has the home crowd on its side, and while it won’t be as boisterous as a regular game, the young players want to impress the Lambeau faithful. Last season’s records show the gulf in talent, and there is pride on the line with Packers coach Matt LaFleur wanting to get the best of brother Mike Lafleur, the Jets’ offensive coordinator.
